PARADES PROHIBITED
GERMAN CATHOLIC YOUTHS - A GOVERNMENT DECREE BERLIN, July 23. (Received July 23, at 9 p.m.) Dr Frick (Minister of the Interior) has issued a decree prohibiting Catholic youth organisations from wearing uniforms and badges, parading with flags, or performing open-air exercises. “ Catholic youth organisations recently transgressed the limits set by the Government,” says the decree, “ and the Government will no longer tolerate this practice, which endangers public order and safety.”
Severe sentences were imposed on two Catholic priests in Berlin for violating the foreign exchange regulations. Father Utsch was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment' and fined £6250, and Father Wilmscn was sentenced to three years imprisonment and fined £1660. Arrests, of Jews continue In many parts.
