RIFLE SHOOTING

THE BISLE\ MEETING (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, July 21. Ninety-nine men and one woman fired at the Bisley rifle meeting in the last stage of the competition for the King’s Prize. The woman was Miss Marjorie Foster, who won the event in 1930, the only time that it was ever captured by one of her sex. The male competitors included five who had previously won the prize as well as Lieutenant Sutherland, who lost both legs in the war and had to be wheeled to the firing points in an invalid chair. Sutherland won the St. George’s Challenge Vase, given for 15 shots at 000 yards, after two tie shoots.
