REMOVAL OF APPENDIX PATIENT MAKES GOOD RECOVERY. i (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 22. When the Makura, which arrived today, was three days out from San Francisco, G. A. Perreau, the first baker, was operated on for acute appendicitis by the ship’s doctor, Dr C. S. Laurence, assisted by Dr Luckie, physician, of Pasadena. Dr E. B. Reilly, a Christchurch dentist, pave the aiuesthetic. The operation was performed in the ship’s nursery. The ship was slowed down. Perreau made a good recovery.
