TO-NIGHT’S WRESTLING

To-nipht’s wrestling contest between JSarl M'Cready and King Elliott promises to be the most spectacular seen in Oamaru so far, and followers of this "sport in North Otago are extremely fortunate m having the opportunity of witnessing two wrestlers of the highest calibre in action. Patrons are advised not to miss to-night’s wrestling in the Opera House, as they will undoubtedly be treated to a clean and fast contest. King Elliott is exceptionally clever and very aggressive. He is dangerous at all timqs, especially with his tackles and spectacular wrist locks. Since his visit to America he is a much-improved wrestler, and has learnt the finer points of the game. He should prove a very tricky opponent for M'Cready, who should be fully extended. Elliott’s weight is about 15st 111 b. M'Cready arrived in Oamaru yesterday morning, looking none the worse for his strenuous contest in • Dunedin on Saturday night, in which he defeated Wade_on ats. This contest is described as being , fast, and clean, and, knowing M'Cready’s fine record, the opportunity should not be missed of seeing this clever exponent in action. Since his arrival in New Zealand M'Cready has had nine contests, and has not yet been defeated. It is interesting to note that M'Cready’s manager, Mr Walter Miller, of America, has held four world’s titles from a welterweight up to a light-weight. Mr Miller was the first to introduce wrestling in America.

. Excellent preliminaries have been arranged for to-night’s programme, in which four local boys will be participating.
