ELECTRICAL STORM

BREAKS OVER NEW YORK FOUR PEOPLE KILLED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) NEW YORK, July 20. (Received July 21, at 6.30 p.m.) The hottest Saturday afternoon this summer was broken by a freak electrical storm at 3 o'clock to-day which killed four persons and injured a score of others at the beaches. In the New York metropolitan area the temperature dropped from 90 degrees Fah. to 67 within a few minutes and torrential rain sent several hundred thousand bathers scurrying for shelter with considerable traffic disorder.

Four persons were killed seeking shelter under a sheet-iron roof. One had just commented on the foolishness of persons staying on the beach during the storm when a bolt of lightning tore through the structure, horribly burning and mutilating the bodies.
