TO THE EDITOR Sir, —A protest against the assertion by your correspondent who styles himself "One of the Boys" that Mr Alcock is unpopular with the men employed here, is certainly called for. Mr Alcock has done all that could be expected with the small number of men at his disposal. He has always considered the welfare, and above all, the/ safety of those under him, and is consequently popular. We believe that 99 pfer cent, of the men here would agree with us in this. — We are, etc., Some of the Boys. Waitaki Hydro, July 19.
