Sir Henri Deterding, a director of the Asiatic Petroleum Company and the Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Company, has offered to pay the full fares of any ot the 2000 employees of the companies and their wives who spend their holidays abroad in Europe. *Sir Henri desires it to be known that his offer applies to the families of employees as well as wives. “ The idea is to broaden the mhids and outlook of the firm’s employees,*’ ho says,* “ but I want their families to benefit ns well as the men themselves ” Advertising pays its way, often many times over. It will permit lower prices through increased volume. It can reduce selling costs. It can lessen the time in which a product moves from factory to consumer.
