A SUGGESTED ALTERATION PREFERENTIAL VOTING SYSTEM (Pee United Pkess Association) AUCKLAND, July 19. “ I have not discussed it at all, and am unable to say anything about it.” said the Acting Minister of Finance (Mr Adam Hamilton), in refening to the suggested alteration in the electoral laws. A message from Wellington, published yesterday, said that political circles were freely discussing the possibility ot an alteration in the laws before the next election, involving a change to some system of preferential voting. The Minister added that the matter had never been discussed formally by Cabinet, although there had been a good deal of talk about it in the newspapers.
