THE PIPING AND DANCING ASSOCIATION

TO THE EDITOR

Sir, —Evidently some correspondents are envious of the new lease of life that has taken hold of piping and dancing in Dunedin, and the association is to be congratulated on its endeavour to promote that part of Scottish arts which to my mind takes the precedence over all the other activities of Scottish life and amusements. If the association is showing the, initiative in appealing for funds from the Homeland, I say, more power to' its elbow. My experience of the competitors who squeal most, after having, sometimes, more than their fair share, is that they don’t care whether funds come from Scotia or Timbuctoo so long as they have all they want. If the game is . worth the while, then why not pull in and help, not hinder? —I am,- etc., Benhar.
