During the afternoon the southerly moderated, and there were patches of blue sky. Only a few light showers of rain occurred. The maximum temperature was 48.3 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, June 27. The weather to-day was mainly fine but cold, with a fresh south-west breeze. The maximum temperature was 44.8 degrees. The barometer, after rising, is now steady at 29.67 incheß.
