THE WEATHER
Cold weather was experienced in Dunedin yesterday. The temperature was at freezing point at 8 a.m., and the maximum temperature for the day was 42 degrees, and the minimum 28 degrees A frceh south-west wind was blowing, and the conditions generally were overcast and unsettled. The barometer was fairly steady, and registered 29.48 at 4 p.m. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (SrEciAL to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, June 27. Cold weather with heavy showers was again experienced to-day, although there were periods of sunshine. There was a squally westerly wind. The barometer rose slightly, but was still below normal this evening. WELLINGTON, June 27. A strong southerly wind blew most of the morning, with _ frequent heavy showers, some hail falling at times. During the afternoon the southerly moderated, and there were patches of blue sky. Only a few light showers of rain occurred. The maximum temperature was 48.3 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, June 27. The weather to-day was mainly fine but cold, with a fresh south-west breeze. The maximum temperature was 44.8 degrees. The barometer, after rising, is now steady at 29.67 incheß.
