TO-DAY'S FOOTBALL

RUGBY. The annual Rugby football match be-' tween Kaikorai and University will be played at Carisbrook at 3 p.m. to-day, is always looked forward to by followers of the sport to provide one of the best games of the season. Though Kaikorai suffered defeat at the hands of Pirates last Saturday, the team is confident of putting up a much better game against University this afternoon. Kaikorai is playing bright football, and as University A can always be relied upon to open up the game, spectators should be provided with a spectacular display. Aa a curtain-raiser, Dunedin will meet University B, and this match should also be an excellent one. At the Caledonian ground Southern will meet Union. Union is a much improved side this season, ana has performed well in its previoua engagements, but, no doubt, will find Southern a formidable proposition. At Tahuna Park a closely contested game should be witnessed between Alhambra and Zingari-Richmond. In continuation of the Fletcher Cup Competition, two senior games have been set down for decision at Logan Park to-day.. The early game, starting at 1.30 p.m., will be between' High School Old Boys and Technical College Old Boys. A keen rivalry exists between these Old Boys' clubs, and to-day's encounter should provide fast and exciting play. Maori Hill and Roslyn-Wakari will follow on at 3 o'clock. The younger Roslyn players, who are settling down to a solid side, are expected to fully extend their mora seasoned opponents, and altogether spectators should witness bright football dui* ing the afternoon. Northern meet Mornington at the Gardens ground, whilst Mosgiel are due to travel to Seacliff to play the hospital side.
