LECTURE BY MR DAWSON
On Sunday evening, in the Town Hall Concert Chamber, Mr Harry Dawson, of Australia, will lecture on "World Wonders." The lecture, in which Mr Dawson will describe the contrast between the present scientific age ami that of the Babylonian and Roman periods, will be Accompanied by pictures, by means or which the lecturer will transport his audience back to those ancient times, where they will sec/ such wonders as the inck-rewn Columbarium of Petra, the Pharos of Alexandria, the Colossus of Rhodes, the marvellous palace of Darius, with its costly woods and precious metals, the Temple of the Ephesian Diana, the Devil's Bridtje fa huge wall 10 miles in length), a Roman circus, vaulted brick burial chambers of ancient Babylon, and many other scenes depicting the wonders of (.hose bygone times. Mr Dawson will also review the momentous changes or our modern civilisation and the great increase of knowledge of recent days.
