LIVERPOOL NATIONAL

THE WEIGHTS DECLARED GOLDEN MILLER ON TOP. The Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase will be decided at Aintree on Friday, March 29, and 60 entries were received, against 73 last year and 66 the year before. The record was in 1929, Gregalach's year, when 121 horses were entered and 66 went to the post. Since the entries closed Forbra, who won in 1932, was fatally injured. The lowest weight that can be allotted is 10.7 and the highest 12.7, and Golden Miller, who fell in 1933 when carrying 12.2, and won last year with a similar impost, has been awarded the maximum, and, despite his burden, he is likely to be very strongly fancied again. Thomond II is next with 11.13, and, after finishing third last year with 12.4, he will also be fancied. Noiseau won the Champion Chase, two miles seven furlongs and ahalf, at Aintree last March, with 12.0, and with 11.9 English writers do not think that he is by any means thrown in. Royal Ransom 11.8, who, like Thomond 11, is owned by the American sportsman, Mr J. H. Whitney, has won three two-mile hurdle events this season and has yet to be tested over the Aintree country. Avenger this season won the Highfield Handicap Chase, three miles, at Birmingham, the Grand Allies' Handicap Chase, three miles, with 11.6, at Manchester, the Lancashire Chase, three miles and a-half, with 11.12, on the same course, the Coleshill Chase, three miles, with 12.0, at Birmingham, and the Quorn Chase, about three miles, with 12.4, at Leicester. He has 11.7, and has not yet been tried at Aintree. Oeil de Boeuf is a French entry. Reynoldstow'n 11.4 w-on the Belvoir Chase, two miles, with 11.10 at Leicester this season and later captured the Lambourn Chase, three miles, at Newbury, with 11.12. Delaneige 11.2 was fourth in the Liverpool Grand National in 1933 with 11.3, and was second to Golden Miller last year with 11.6. He was actually first over the last fence on that occasion. He has been second in three other races since then, and will have support. Remug 11.2 has contested the last two Grand Nationals, being twelfth and tenth, with 11.12 and 11.9 respectively. Really True 10.13 was second to Kellsboro Jack with 10.12 in 1933 1 , but fell last year. Southern Hero, Master Orange, Alpine Hut, and Ready Cash all fell last year, while Slater 10.7, who ran third in 1933 with a similar impost, was pulled up. Uncle Batt was fifth last year with 10.13, and now has the minimum. The weights are:—
