The course was in good order and the attendance was good. Investments totalled £17,411 10s, against £15,105 last year. Harold Denver and Pronto Bingen were the smartest to begin and led along the back from Young Frank, Fernbrook Lass, Mocast, and Bingen Palm. Passing the stands the order was Harold Denver, Fernbrook Lass, Pronto Bingen, Eureka Boy, Mocast, Queen Author, Bracken, and Bingen Palm. The leaders were the same along the back, but at the half mile Queen Author and Eureka Boy had charge, and were followed into the straight by Bracken, Taxpayer, Rey Spec, and Bingen Palm. Rey Spec finished well, and won by two lengths from Taxpayer, with Bracken four lengths away and Queen Author fourth.
