THE HOUSE OF COMMONS
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS TIN REGULATION SCHEME LONDON, February 21. (Received Feb. 22, at 5.5 p.m.) Sir Philip Cunliffe Lister (Secretary for the Colonies), in answer to a question, undertook to publish all the documents dealing with the tin regulations scheme and relevant reports of the World Economic Conference on, the subject. Replying to Mr Wilmot’s inquiries about the alleged connection 1 between those operating the tin scheme and those who were recently involved in the pepper and shellac gambling operations, Sir Philip said that the tin scheme was in no way connected with any other commodity. Mr Walter Runciman (President of the Board of Trade) told other inquirers that it would not- be expedient to have a full inquiry into the James Shakespeare Company’s affairs. The official receiver would as usual conduct a private inquiry, but any shareholder or creditor would be entitled to see the report.
