DEFORESTATION DEPLORED i VIEWS OF NEW SOUTH WALES VISITOR. (Per United . Press Association) INVERCARGILL, February 22. The opinion that every effort should be made to conserve the Dominion’s hush reserves and that further deforestation should be avoided at all costs was expressed by Mr J. G. Billen,. a wellknown New South Wales grazier, in an interview to-day. Mr Billen expressed the opinion that steps should be taken by the Government to prevent any felling of bush on the route from Waikaremoana through the Urewera country, and. said he was sure that the tourist traffic from Australia and America would he greatly increased by making the attractions of this scenic route \more widely known.
