STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
MAORI YOUTH KILLED TWO MEN INJURED (Peb United Pbess Association) WHAKATANE, February 2. A Maori youth, Petawhia, aged 16, was killed by lightning, and two others, Wiki Toko (45) and Huru Teraka (21) were rendered unconscious as the result: of a sudden electrical storm at Tauwharemanuka, in the heart of Urewa,, 46 miles from Whakatane, yesterday afternoon. The party were haymaking, observed the storm approaching, and were struck by the lightning while making for. the shelter of their whares.
The police are investigating and an inquest is to be held.
