Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd. 6,908 Dalgety and Co., Ltd. 5,153 Donald Reid and Co., Ltd. .... 3,123 National Mortgage and Agency . Company, Ltd. "\ 3,995 Stronach, Morris and Co., Ltd... 1,745. 25,306 There is still a tendency on the part of growers to hold their clips in hopes of igher values. This is more noticeable amongst crossbred growers, with the result that the catalogue contains a bigger proportion of finer wools than is usual for an offering at a second sale. * The wool now ; displayed for sale contains a number of station clips, and the wools generally are heavier in condition than the offerings at the-first sale. There are some outstanding lots to be sold, and for these good competition is expected from the local mills. The trend of the market shows that no improvement in values can be expected over the December sale, and it is anticipated that values will be on a par with this sale. One of trie features of the sale held at Dunedin in December was that the market was firmer than the' previous northern sales. The series of sales held in the* north Bince Dunedin showed a firming on their previous sales, values haying moved up in line with the Dunedin sale. The. market has since remained steady, with fluctuations in the buying strength. While the Continent were the chief operators at Dunedin's first sale, northern sales show that the Continental demand has eased to a certain extent, while Bradford has been, buying more freely, but representatives are operating on strictly Refined limits.
