LIFE OF CECIL RHODES
THE PROPOSED FILM GENERAL SMUTS’S APPROVAL / LONDON, November 15. The mystery of the British National Films Company’s film of the life of Cecil Rhodes has been deepened by General Smuts’s denial of interference. He says that the film has his entire approval. A previous message stated; The Daily Telegraph says that the British National Films Company has abandoned the project to produce a film story of the life of Cecil Rhodes owing to representations by General Smuts and other authorities in South Africa. The story as planned was calculated to arouse racial feeling between Anglo-Saxons and Boers.
