MILTON At the monthly sitting of the Milton Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, before Messrs D. M. Mawson, J.P., and T. H. Russell, J.P., judgment by default was given in the claim Bruce Carrying Company v. C. Sharp, for £2 13s 7d, with court costs (11s), and solicitor's fee (15s 6d). W. G. North was charged with negligently driving a motor car on the main highway between Henley and Milton. — Constable Watkins stated that when in the vicinity of the new bridge, which is being erected near Waihola, the defendant’s car collided with an obstruction, although the bridge works were well lighted. One passenger suffered a fractured collarhone, The defendant continued his journey to Milburn, where he was stopped and it was discovered that he was under the influence of liquor. The defendant was convicted and fined £lO, with costs (16s). J. H. Parry, for driving a motor lorry without possessing a heavy traffic license, was fined £3. with court costs (8s), and solicitor’s fee (£1 Is).
