PRINCIPAL SUSPENDED
TECHNICAL SCHOOL DISPUTE SPECIAL COURT OF APPEAL (Per United Press Association) ASHBURTON, November 16. A special court, consisting of Mr 0. R. Orr Walker, S.M., and a nominee of each party, is hearing' an appeal by R. ,T. Thompson, principal of the Technical High School, against his -scent suspension for a month. The case is a sequel to a conference between the nigu school and technical school boards in regard to amalgamation, following which Thompson published letters in the Guardian criticising the statements made. Thompson refused t 6 accede to the chairman’s request to desist, and the board suspended him. The grounds of the appeal include the plea that the board had no authority to suspend the principal, that he had not disobeyed a lawful command in relation to his duties, that the board had exceeded its powers, that the punishSnent was unreasonable and out of all proportion to the alleged offence, an 1 that the attitude of some members of the board prevented a settlement.
