ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CAUGHT IN MACHINERY A married man, William Robertson, aged 40 years, residing at 9 Pollock street, Maori Hill, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 10 a.m. yesterday suffering from a compound fracture of the left forearm. The injured man was attending machinery at Brinsley’s Radiation N.Z., Ltd., when his arm was caught in a belt. BADLY CRUSHED HAND Robert Walker, 51 years of age, married, residing at Irvine street, Lawrence, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 6.45 p.m. yesterday suffering from a badly crushed left hand. He was engaged in shunting operations at Roxburgh, where he is employed as a guard on the railways, and caught his hand between two buffers. A SUDDEN DEATH A single man, John Neill, 56 years of age, residing at 47 Cannington road, Maori Hill, dropped dead in the Rattray street shop of Barton’s Butchery, where he was employed, at 11 o’clock yesterday morning. * An inquest will not be necessarv.
