TENDERS a s. RENDERS FOR SAMOAN BANANAS. Tenders are invited for the PURCHASE of the whole or any portion of the shipments of Bananas from Western Samoa by the m.v. Maui Pomare during the calendar year 1935 on the following conditions; —(1) Price quoted to be_ per case either f.o.b. Apia or alternatively c.i.f. Lyttelton and/or Wellington. (2) Tenders to be either (a) for the whole shipment by every voyage leaving Apia during 1935 or (b) for a specific number of cases by every such voyage. (3) Bananas will be subject to Government inspection, will be placed alongside in fresh green condition packed in Sft cases to pass usual standard, and all reasonable care will be exercised to supply fruit of the best quality. (4) The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Notes, (a) The m.v. Maui Pomare will normally carry approximately 7100 cases from Western Samoa by each voyage, but if' and when desired by the purchaser special arrangements can probably be made to carry up to SOO additional cases. (b) Twelve voyages are contemplated during the year, the first due to leave Apia on February 9. (c) The total importation of bananas into ! New Zealand from all sources during 1935 will not exceed 25,000 3ft cases every four weeks during the period May to September inclusive, or 30,000 every four weeks during the periods January to April and October to December. The prices quoted may be calculated accordingly.
