PAKAPOO RAID
THREE CHINESE FINED (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 12. Fines amounting to £lO5 were imposed in the Magistrate's Court upon three Chinese who pleaded guilty to using their premises in: Taranaki street as common gaming houses. They were Harry Fun, aged 45, and Bing Shing, aged-48, who were eacli fined £4O, in default two months' imprisonment, and Ah Chong, aged 41, who was fined £25, in default one month's imprisonment. The charges resulted from searches conducted by the police yesterday on the premises of the three accused in Taranaki street. The police found quantities of pakapoo paraphernalia. Chong had not previously been before the court, but last year for keeping a common gaming house Fun was fined £4O and Shing was find £SO.
