GREEN ISLAND CLUB The fourth annual meeting of the Green Island Cricket Club was held on Tuesday, the president (Mr A. Harraway) presiding over a large gathering of members. Moving the adoption of the, annual report and balance sheet, the president congratulated members on their performances during the season, the Second G r.ade B team having done exceptionally well in winning the competition. With regard to finance, the club had a small credit balance, and the president appealed to members to pay their subscriptions early. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows;—Patron, his Worship the Mayor (Mr W. T. Smellie); president, Mr A. Harraway; vice-presidents—Messrs J. B. Orr, W. Morland, E. Bezett, M. Harraway, G. Harraway, Dr Edie, T. Tomkins, J. Wilkie, D. Reid, R. Umbers, T. Anderson, and C. N. Bell; secretary and treasurer, A. Lindsay; committee — Messrs T. Tomkins, T. Samson, A. Berry, J Grant, R. Christianson, W. Berry, 0. M'Mullan, W. Smellie, A. Grant, and V. Short; club captain, Mr A. Berry. It was decided to enter the following three teams;—Second Grade A, Second Grade B, and Third Grade. Opening day was fixed for October 6. At the conclusion of the meeting G. Berry was presented with Mr Harraway’s trophy for batting and W. Smeili* with Dr Edie’s trophy for bowling.
