BLIND MAN’S CHEQUES
How does a blind man sign a cheque? Mr Prank Pearce, of Blackpool, Lancashire, ims made that easy for himself, and for all his Wind comrades'. Hehas Invented a etencili or ‘mask, as he calls it. —& rectangular piece of metal, the exact shm and ishftprf of a cheque, with a.space rut out wherever something has to be filled in. In this way a blind person can make ont a cheque correctly,: with date, amount, payee, and signature. - ; 3 „ "At first t made one« of -cardboard,. Mr Pearce says.' “but,it did not last, eo I used thin metal instead. “I. was collecting at one time for St. Dunstan’s, and I had to give receipts in each case. I did not like to toll people■ that I would send the receipts to them, so I devised one-of these stencils.”
