DAIRY BOARD'S REPORT CONDITIONS FAIRLY SATISFACTORY , ( Special to Daily Times) WELLINGTON, August 31. Favourable conditions in the early •pring gave * wealth of feed, and a very •übstantial Increase in production was recorded (states the tenth annual report of the Naw."Zealand Dairy Board). During the balance of the season, although here and there . throughout the country dry spells were experienced, conditions in the main, were satisfactory,' and production ; kept up, .with the exception, that in £• last few months of. the season the lling-off.waa more rapid than,usual. The percentage increases on s butterfat basis, taking both butter and cheese, have been:—-1924-1925, increased over 1923-1924 by 6.8 per cent.; 1925-1926, decreased below 1924-1925 by 5.6 per cent.; 1926-1927, increased over 1925-1826 by 10.47 per, cenL; 1927-1928, increased over 1.926-1927; by 2.59 per cent.; 1928-1929, increased over 1927-1928 by. 10;88 per cent.; 1929-1930,, increased over 1928-1929 by 10.4 per cent.: • 1930-1931, increased over 1929-1930 by '2.502 per cent.; 1931-1932, increased over 1930-1931 by 5.285 per cent.: 1932-1933, increased over 1931-1932 by 20.354 per cent.; 1933-1934, increased over 1932-1933 by 7.834 per .cent. ' The percentage of cheese graded 91 points and over during recent seasons has been:—l93o-1931, 82.4 per cent.; 1931-1932, 87.9 per cent.; 1932-1933. 86.97 per cent;; 1933-1934, 98.10 per cent. -Total cheese importations into the United ’Kingdom has been as follows;: 1928, 150,317 tons; 1929, 149,730 tons; 1930, 155,620 tons; 1931, 144,238 tons; 1932, 150,327 tons; 1933, 151,983 tons, of which Canada and New Zealand supplied the following proportions:—

' CHEESE PRICES; •' When the 1932-33 season closed at July 31, 1933, London prices for cheese were 50s'for white and 52s for coloured. A slight reduction took place during August i’md early September, but, at September 30. 54s to 55s was the ruling price for both white and coloured., Prices fell slowly from that point to December 31, 1033, and during January of. the new year dropped to 41s to 42s for white and 4Ss to 44s for coloured. A very alight impvovehient was made during the next few months, prices. at the beginning of May being ’44s to 44s 6d for white and 4"s ,for coloured. At July 30 the London m-ices stood at 49s 6d for white and 47s for coloured. j
