RECONSTRUCTED BELFRY
CEREMONY AT YPRES BRUSSELS, July SO. (Received July 30, at 8 p.m.) In. the presence of 100,000 people, including Lady Haig and Lady Plumer and British military representatives, King Leopold inaugurated the reconstructed belfry at Ypres, which was destroyed by the bombardment in 1915. He prophesied renewed prosperity of the town. He unveiled statues in the belfry of King Albert, Queen Elizabeth, the patron saint of. Ypres, and the builder of the original belfry.
