Bradman's condition is unchanged, and he is not allowed to see visitors. A, cable dated July 23 stated that Bradman, in chasing a ball in the outfield in the fourth test, badly strained a muscle of his right thigh, and had to return to London for treatment. The ex-cricketer P. G. Ford, in a letter in the Observer, discloses that the Marylebone • Committee, acting on the recommendation of the special sub-com-mittee, decided that the altered leg-before law be applied only to balls pitching on the off side.
