THE WEATHER
The weather yesterday was fine and sunny, but cold in the shade. A light south-west wind prevailed, and the maximum temperature was 45 degrees. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times.) 1 AUCKLAND, July 27. Very cold weather was experienced today. A .fresh breeze blew all day from the south-east and the sky was overcast and threatening. After falling to 29.65 in this morning, the barometer has risen to 29.80 in, WELLINGTON, July 27. Moderate to strong southerly winds prevailed in Wellington to-day and the weather was very cold, changeable and showery, with some light hail falling at times. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 40.0 degrees and the maximum for the day was 45.16 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, July 27. The weather to-day was fine after four degrees of frost. A light south-west wind in the morning changed to easterly in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 46 degrees. The barometer is steady at 30.10.
