ADDINGTON TRACK WORK

The big track at Addington was open for work on Thursday. The severe frost held up the start of the proceedings, and the track was heavy, though it improved in the afternoon, after being bar* rowed. , Explosion covered a mile and a-half in 3niin 38sec, doing the first mile in 2min 29scc. . Edgar Wallace took 2mm 32sec for a mile. Silver de Oro paced two miles in 4mm 54sec, coming home the last mile in 2min 2556 c» Nelson Ata and Don Cbenault trotted a mile and a-quarter in 3min lOsec. Gold Country took 3mm 37eec for a mile and a-half, the last half-mile being run in Imin llsec. . The majority of the candidates restricted their work to short sprints-on the No. .2 gras*. The tracks are firming up nicely, and the indications are that they will be in excellent order to-morrow. Lord Mouton ran an easy three furlongs in 44 2-ssec; Ebeum. ran five ill Imm 8 4-sseC.' Good Hunting strode over a round, the last three furlongs in 41sec. Raparahara, with a light-weight up, slipped over three furlongs in 41 3-ssec; Flaxen did six furlongs at a steady pace, coming from the three-furlongs poet in 42 2-ssec. Boudoir ran six furlongs in Imin 23 4-seec, leaving the first three behind in 41 4-ssec. Amyril registered an attractive performance, beating Rereatu by a couple of lengths at the close of hvc furlongs in Imin 5 4-ssec. . , Bacchus Marsh ran five furlongs in Imin 12 4-ssec after taking 29 2-ssec for the first two. KUROW JOCKEY CLUB A meeting of the Kurow. Jockey Club was held last Saturday evening, the president (Mr A. 8. Cambridge) It was decided to send a deputatwmitoi interview the Oamaru Jockey Club. This deputation reported to a further meeting ot the club held on Wednesday evening that it had gone fully into the matter ot amalgamation with the Oamaru Club, when it was found impracticable to come to an arrangement on common (p'ohnd.
