As a rival to buried frogs and other " death-defyins" creatures, Charleroi (Pennsylvania) offers a bat, unharmed by four months' " entombment" in a cellar cupboard Last summer Mrs Albert Hostengle filled the cupboard with canned goods and preserves,, and locked it. Recently she opened the cupboard, and outflew ' a large bat. She says that the mammal could not have got in the locked cupboard during the four months, and she is sure that it had nothing to'eat, as the canned goods were not touched.
