MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Taieri Poultry Society was well attended, the president (Mr J. P. Wads) occupying the 1 Letters were read from the Department of Agriculture giving permission for Mr J. K Davies, instructor in agriculture, and Mr S. C. Rhodes, apiary instructor, to judge the fields produce and honey sections respectively. The Alliance Bee Supplies Company, Ltd., Dunedin, Messrs Farra Bros., and the Mosgiel Woollen Factory Company notified their intention of forwarding their usual special prizes.—Received with thanks. The secretary of the South Island Poultry Association wrote at length concerning several of the sections in the schedule. The Buff Orpingtons had been altered to read “buff or cinnamon,” both in the open section and the utility. All young bird classes in the homing pigeons should be marked “ ring 1933. He questioned the appointment of one judge who was not included in the “official list ” —After a discussion, the question of changing the judge or otherwise was left to the Schedule Committee. Stewards were apppointed to assist the judges at the show, and arrangements made for the erection of the pens, the oenning of the birds, the supervision of sheep and pig weight-guessing competition, and other details.
