THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS AN INNINGS AND 163 RUNS (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, May 10. The match between Australia ami Cambridge University was continued in glorious weather. The wicket was good and the outfield fast. Ponsford (195) and Brown (77) proceeded to score merrily. Brown hit three successive 4’s and reached 100 in 165 minutes, but when the partnership had added 262 runs in 180 minutes Brown, hitting vigorously, was caught in the slips after a delightful innings which was full of grace and confidence. He hit six 4’s. Woodfull declared at 12.15. Ponsford’s 229 is his highest score In England. He batted 370 minutes and hit 19 4’s. He was always completely confident. The Cambridge batsmen were veiy careful,' and when eight rims had been scored after half an hour’s play Griramett was called on and dismissed Allen. , From then on Grimmett completely dominated the situation.
