SALE OF HONEYMEAD

AN APIARIST FINED (Pm United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May.lo. Charles Albert Oldman, an apiarist, of Waiau, was fined £lO by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., at Culverden to-day for selling honeymead. ' Oldman, it was stated, had been unable to dispose of his honey and had converted a large quantity into mead and had sold some of it. He pleaded-guilty. It was stated that only about £4 worth of mead had been sold and 400 gallons had been confiscated by the police. The magistrate said there were extenuating circumstances. The financial position of the accused was difficult, and lie would be allowed to pay in instalments if he wished. ;
