BARRIERS OF CASTE
SAP CASE IN INDIA GIRL ALLOWED TO DROWN. CALCUTTA, May 9. {Received May 9, at 11.55 p.m.) The barriers of untouchability came in the way of saving life when a young Hindu woman of high caste fell into a well in a village near Nagpur. Two low caste youths wanted to jump into the well and save her, but other women prevented them because the water would lie polluted by their touch. The girl was drowned.
