OUTRAM TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. ..-.. The monthly meeting of the Outram Town Board.was held on Thursday last. Commissioner A. Y. Hendry presided, and Commissioners J. H. Bathgate, John Dohcrty and William Marshall, jun„ were also present. A letter of thanks was received from the officer commanding the Otago Mouuted Rifles for the use of the recreation reserve as a camping area, and expressing appreciation of the kindness extended to all the regiment by the residents of Outram. The board's solicitors advised that "the proposed • agreement with the Taieri Agricultural Society to lease the recreation reserve for 21 years would have to be submitted to the Minister of Lands for his approval.—lt was decided that a clause in reference to rent and the use of buildings should be inserted. An application from the Picnic Committee of the Milton United Friendly Societies for a reduction in the rent of the reserve was granted. A donation of £2 2s was made towards the fuuds of the Outram Plunket Society.
