EIGHTY MEN TRAPPED SMOKE PRECLUDES RESCUE (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MUNICH, May 7. (Received May 8, at 8.30 p.m.) Though, many escaped, 80 miners were trapped when a short circuit, due to the collapse of a pit prop cutting a hightension cable, set fire to the main shaft of a salt mine at Bueggingen. Thick smoke precluded rescues. Hope has been abandoned and the mine sealed.
