VISIT TO JOHANNESBURG SHAFT OF MINE DESCENDED ■ (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) JOHANNESBURG, March 13. Prince George descended, the shaft of the Crown mine, one of the largest gold mines at Johannesburg and 7000 feet below the earth's surface. He explored the wonders of a modern gold mine, and witnessed the natives drilling rich ore. Miners, who were wearing steel helmets as a protection against foiling rock, stood to attention. Many of them were wearing war medals. Half-naked natives worked the slopes.
