CHRISTCHURCH HIGH SCHOOL

The third annual meeting of the Dunedin branch of the Christchurch High School Old Boys' Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. committee room, Dr S. B. Strain presiding. In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman mentioned that the year had proved the most successful on record for the branch, and much more interest had been taken by the members generally. The balance sheet showed the finances of the Dunedin branch to be in a sound position.—The report and balance sheet were adopted. A letter was received from the headmaster (Mr G. J. Lancaster) thanking the association for its special prizes. The meeting decided that the branch invite as their guest to the annual reunion dinner this year Mr B. K. S. Lawrence, the oldest surviving master oi the school. Mr Lawrence has the record of joining the stall when the school waß opened in 1881. Tiie following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr T. J. L. Rantin; vice-presidents, Dr S. B. Strain and Mr L. H. Beardsley; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. W. M'Cullougb; committee—Messrs M. Skipwortb, C. J. Wood, and K. A. Dixon. It was decided that the branch place on permanent record in the minutes an appreciation of the services of the retiring secretary, Mr L. H. Beardsley, who was amongst the founders of _ the branch, serving on the first committee and for two years acting as secretary.
