LAW STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting o£ the Otago University Law Students' Association, which was presided over by Mr J. H. Kemnitz, was held in the Supreme Court lecture rooms on Monday evening. The chairman extended a welcome and advice to the new members of the faculty. The annual report and balance sheet were then read and adopted, the year showing a slightly increased credit balance. Deep regret was expressed at the loss of Sir Thomas Sidey, who had been one of the faculty's most ardent supporters. The annual ball and the annual dinner had maintained their usual high standard and were socially unqualified successes. In other fields the faculty had been well represented, notably in athletics and debating. The election of office-bearers for the forthcoming year resulted as follows: — President, Mr M. Joel; vice-president, Mr I>. F. Moller; secretary, Mr F. P. Evans; treasurer, Mr C. E. H. Pledger; committee—Messrs J. D. Neil, B. V. Jones, I. A. Mitchell, and J. S. D. More. Several matters of general interest were then discussed the more important being the question of the venue of the ball and the advisability of having a faculty photograph taken.
