ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

MAORI HILL CLUB The twenty-ninth annual meeting of the Maori Hill Association Football Club was held in the club's pavilion at Prospect Park last night. The president (Mr J. Simpson) occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance. Mr A. A. M'Lennan, a member of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association, was welcomed to the meeting. Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the chairman congratulated members on the satisfactory position of the club's finances, especially in view of the fact that the senior team played few matches on its home ground, which gave the committee little chance of augmenting its funds. Speaking of tho success achieved by the senior players, he said they deserved every credit, and the fact that they had worked harmoniously together had been a great factor in the result obtained. He said he was pleased to announce that there was a possibility of the club being in a position to enter a Second Grade team in the coming season, and in conclusion thanked the committee for the support accorded him and trusted the coming season would be a successful one for the club.— (Applause.)
