SONG RECITAL

On Friday evening, at Begg’s Concert Chamber, Miss Andri Bevin will give a song recital. Miss Bevin has arranged a very fine programme, which will consist of English, French, German and Italian songs, and many of them will be new to the Dunedin audiences. Miss Bevin has had five years experience abroad, and has sung in some of the big halls on the Continent and in Britain, where she received flattering reports. In. teruational New Thought paper, London, comments as follows: —‘‘Andri Bevin, whose rich contralto voice is always such a joy and inspiration to us all, was certainly at her best, and surely surpassed herself, while the variety of her songs revealed the magnificent compass of her voice and the full range of her accomplishment. One need not have studied divination at the oracle’s tripod to predict that this charming and clever young singer will climb to the very top of her profession one day, and in the not-fai--distant future either.” Mrs H. C. Campbell will accompany Miss Bevin, and in addition will play a pianoforte solo. The plan is now open at Begg’s.
