(From Our Own Correspondent.) LAWRENCE, March 12. FOOTBALL CLUB. The annual, meeting of the Lawrence Football Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers oh Saturday evening, Dr W. Sutherland presiding over an attendance of about 30 members. On the motion of Mr J. Colgan, seconded, by. Mr J. MTntyre, the report and balance sheet were adopted, the position of the club being considered very satisfactory. ~ , The election of officers resulted as follows:-! —Patron, Mr J. K. Simpson; president, Dr W. Sutherland; vicepresidents—Messrs J. B. M'Kinlay, G. R. Talboys, A. L. Hart, W. Christie, J. MTntyre, W. Suters, J, M'Ara, T. W. Parkhill, D. MTntosh, J. Colgan, C. Jackman, H. Dunn, E. Winchester, H. Holland, N. O. Potts, D. M'Corkindale, J. M'Keich, W. Kemp, H. T. Gordon and ' Rev. J. N. Thompson; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr R. F. Batchelor; club captain, Mr J. Colgan; coach, Mr W. Abel; selectors Messrs W. J. Cavanagh, W. Abel and the, team captain; General Committee— Messrs A. Breen, E, Donohue, W. J. Cavanagh, L. Gray, S. Mong and P. E. Moody; auditor, Mr A. Prisk. It was resolved that the season be opened on Saturday, April 7. A Stewart was granted a clearance to the Excelsior Club, Oamaru. CRICKET. On Saturday the Lawrence 'Cricket team travelled to Edievale and was dismissed for 62. Edievale responded with 154 for eight wickets. DENTAL CLINIC. The report of the dental clinic for the year just ended states that the period was started with a debt of £1 10s. The receipts for the year were £24, 7s 5d and expenditure £23 11s lid. The nurse made two visits to Lawrence during the year, and the clinic was visited by officers of the Health Department, who found it working satisfactorily. During the year 139 children were ‘treated. TUAPEKA COLLIE CLUB. A meeting of the Tuapeka Collie Club was held on Saturday night, with Mr M. J. Fahey in the chair. The balance sheet showed a credit of £3S 3s 6d. The following officers were elected: —President Mr A. D. Crawford; vice-presidents —Messrs G. B. Patterson, J. P. Brown, M. J. Fahey, and George Davidson; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Rokertson. It was decided to hold trials this year on May 19 and 21, and to apply to the Otago Association for the dates decided upon.
