NEWFOUNDLAND'S OFFER • ; (HrltlEh Official Wirelesa.) RUGBY, March 5. The, Supplementary Estimates presented in, the House of- Commons on behalf of the Dominions Office and approved Included £234,000 in connection with the recent constitutional change in Newfoundland. The Undor-secretary (Mr Malcolm MacDonald) said the greater part of ft was required to meet the deficit in 'the current financial year, including provision for the payment of-interest on Newfoundland's'Public Debt. The response to Newfoundland's debt conversion offer had been extremely, satisfactory, and the saving during six months had been about .1159,000.; in addition to the £234,000 a further £40,000 , was being asked for in conrie .tion with certain work of reconstruction and rehabilitation in Newfoundland.
