The monthly social of the Orkney and Shetland Society was held on Saturday evening at the Unity Chambers, Stuart street. The president (Mr J. F. Spence) presided, and there was a good attendance of members and friends. During the course of the evening an enjoyable programme was submitted, the following items being rendered:—Recitation, Miss Evelyn Flaws; Highland fling and sean truibhais, Miss Jean Clack; song, Mies M. Henderson. Dancing was indulged in by a majority of those present, Miss Allan's orchestra supplying the music. The Monte Carlo prizes were won by Miss Finch and Mr C. Gray.
