(Received Doe. 14, at 1.30 a.m.) In probate jurisdiction the Acting Chief Justice, Sir John Harvey, granted Pierce Lehane leave to swear to the death of his brother, William Lehane, who committed suicide from the harbour bridge on September 24, 1932. Owing to mistaken identity, the victim was buried as George Williams, a New Zealander. > Mr Justice Harvey declared that ihe coroner’s inquiry was most perfunctory, while the police had accepted the evidence of identification of the bridge victim without the slightest investigation., William Lehane, who is now legally presumed to be dead, was possessed of considerable means, and probate in the estate was granted to his brother, Pierce Lehane.
