HEALTHIER TRADE OUTLOOK
IMPROVEMENT IN PRICES
(Per United Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, September 20,
Gratification at the improvement in prices in the Old Country was expressed by the Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes), speaking this evening at a reception accorded him and Mr R. Masters by the Wellington Manufacturers' Association. Mr Forbes said that the most encouraging feature of the healthier trade outlook was that there had been no sudden jump, but a gradual upward trend. One was justified in the view, he said, that at last there was a little sunshine coming through the clouds. Mr Forbes gave a resume of the World Conference and paid a glowing tribute to the statesmanlike manner in which the British delegates had presented thencase. It made one very proud, he said, to belong to Hie British Empire.
