NEW TYPE OF VESSEL PROTECTION OF TRADE ROUTES. LONDON, September 6. A " convoy sloop" is the latest experimental vessel that the navy will order shortly. The size, speed, and armaments are not revealed. The vessel is designed to combat small enemy trade route attackers and submarines. It is part of a scheme to strengthen Britain's trade routes.
