DROUGHT IN ENGLAND
MANY VILLAGES PARCHED MILK PROBLEM SERIOUS. LONDON, September 5. The plight of the parched villages is serious. Cattle are dying, and the dairy herds are faced with a rapidly falling milk yield. It is feared that if the drought continues it will be impossible to supply the towns. Water in many villages is being sold at 6d a churn.
